Mentor Cohort Kick-off
Overview
This workshop provides participants the opportunity to come together as a group and create a plan for implementation during the school year. This group of participants will be a team of mentors utilized by the district leadership to develop capacity within the initiative and across the district.
The workshop begins with a brief overview of the project plan and then moves into a working session during which time the participants will set goals for the year and cooperatively create an implementation plan they will utilize. This plan will be used to guide the topics and activities that occur throughout the school year. A brief review of the Classroom Observation Protocol – Technology Integration will occur and a discussion of research-based peer coaching models and 21st century skills will take place. If time permits, online resources will be explored more deeply as a means to extend the participant learning for use within the district with other teachers.

- Creation of SMART goals for individual and team consumption
- Design of year-long implementation plan and Summer Academy
- Identify, define and collect materials and resources needed (pd21, netTrekker, Compass Learning, Everyday Math, additional in-district curricular resources, etc.)
- Identify how to best assist teachers in acquiring, adapting, and expanding technology initiative related skills
- Identify key personnel and resources needed for continued implementation success
